Palmar Norte Costa Rica
The iconic US Steel bridge, spanning over the Rio Terraba, that connects Palmar Norte Costa Rica to Palmar Sur and the rest of the Osa region, is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the area. Palmar Norte is a microcosm of what is happening throughout the country, as Costa Rica shifts from an agrarian economy to a service economy. However, Palmar Norte is still anchored by its agricultural support of the nearby palm plantations, and farms of mamones chinos, bananas and other fruits.
Whether visitors need to see a doctor, talk to a pharmacist, purchase a TV or simply buy groceries, Palmar Norte has plenty of options.

Parque Esferas (spheres park)
Palmar Sur is also home to the free public park Parque Esferas. It is a great and easy way to look at and study almost a dozen of Costa Rica's ancient spheres. No one is exactly sure how they were made, and there is only speculation as to who built them. The spheres in the park were moved there decades ago. In fact, the only known spheres that have not been moved are located in Costa Rica's newest national park Finca 6. Finca 6 National Park is located between Palmar Sur and Sierpe.
We recommend everyone take 15-30 minutes to visit the Parque Esferas.
